When Tiffany and Stephen Bowen found out that they were expecting twins, they were elated. The joy they felt was indescribable. Tiffany had already given birth to a healthy full-term baby girl. They felt no need to worry. That changed when she went into labor during her 24th week of pregnancy.

While many services are in place for families during hospitals stays in the NICU, after a loss the support is no longer there. That’s where Skyler’s Gift Foundation steps in. We raise money to help fund services that will fill this need such as research to prevent premature births and deaths.

Why

According to an recent study, 1 in 8 babies are born prematurely in the United States. For those born at 24 weeks like the Tiffany and Stephen Bowen’s twin boys, Stephen and Skyler, there is only a 39% chance of survival. Most infants born prior to 24 weeks have little to no chance of survival.

  • Skyler's Gift 1st NFL Bowl-a-thon a Success
    On May 4th at Lucky Strike in Washington, DC, Skyler's Gift held their first NFL fundraising bowl-a-thon. With close to 200 supporters and 20 NFL players in attendance the first event was a success. Tiffany and Stephen Bowen are incredibly thankful for the support they received. From sponsors and donors to the NFL players in attendance and the media coverage, the Bowens are grateful for those willing to lend a hand to provide hope and healing for families that have lost an infant from complications of premature birth. They have joined the March of Dimes Maryland-National Capital Area Chapter as spokespeople to increase awareness of the March of Dimes efforts to understand and prevent premature birth.
